Jean-René Germanier - Amigne de Vétroz Valais

The Amigne is a Swiss indigenous varietal with only 33 hectares (81.5 acres) planted, of which 28 ha are in the charming village of Vétroz.

Bouquet: dense and fruity, with aromas of citrus and tangerine.
Palate: very fresh, perfect balance between sugar and acidity, hints of tannins on the finish.
Serve: with medium soft cheeses, white meat and grilled scallops.

Bouquet: light white fruit flavors.

Cave de La Côte – DuBaril Chasselas Romand

From selected vineyards in Romandie, Western Switzerland, in the cantons of Vaud and Geneva. This wine is made from the Chasselas grape, a traditional and uniquely Swiss varietal. A well balanced wine. Vintage: 2004

Bouquet: white peach, flowers and lemon-blossom.
Palate: fresh and round. Hints of white fruit and pineapple. Dry with a touch of sweetness.
Serve: as aperitif, with first courses, fish, cheese and cheese dishes, and mild and assorted meats.

La Baudelière - Yvorne

From Yvorne in the famous Chablais wine region in southwestern Switzerland, in the canton of Vaud. From a century-old family-owned winery. Today, a mother-daughter team can be credited with the winery’s great success. This wine is made from the Chasselas grape, a traditional and uniquely Swiss varietal. Vintage: 2004

Bouquet: great finesse, flinty and rich.

Palate: intense but elegant, soft attack, with a fresh and light finish. Dry.

Serve: as aperitif, with fish, seafood, or cheese.

Available in 375 and 750ml bottles.

Cave de La Côte – Oenoline La Côte

From selected vineyards of the La Côte region along Lac Léman (Lake Geneva), in Romandie, Western Switzerland. This wine is made from the Chasselas grape, a traditional and uniquely Swiss varietal. A very versatile wine. Vintage: 2004

Bouquet: flowers and fresh fruits, evoking lemon-blossom, flowers and white peach or lemon.


Palate: smooth, fruity, light taste of caramel and coffee. Slight flinty character. A full and complete wine. Dry.


Serve: as aperitif, with hors d’oeuvres, cheese and cheese dishes, fish, and assorted meats.

Les Frères Dubois et Fils – La Braise d’Enfer Epesses

This “Ember of Hell” is a Chasselas from the Lavaux area along Lake Geneva. In ancient times, the steep vineyards were unstable, resulting in frequent landslides. Often, winegrowers would find their stone walls destroyed in the spring, and thought the devil resided under their vineyards.

Bouquet: expressive, with notes of flint and grilled almond.

Palate: generous, with a lot of character and terroir.

Serve: young (1-3 years), ideal as an aperitif and with fish and white meat; later ideal with cheese.

GAMARET

Caves Cidis - Gamaret La Côte

Wine from the Lake Geneva region. The Gamaret is a hybrid Swiss grape developed in 1970 from the Gamay and Reichensteiner grapes.

Bouquet: expressive with hints of red cherries and spice.

Palate: soft, full-bodied and round; fruity, with hints of oak.

Serve: spicy food, sweet and sour dishes, poultry, red meat, cheese.

PETITE ARVINE

René Favre & Fils - Petite Arvine Chamoson

From Chamoson, in south western Switzerland, in the heart of the canton of Valais. The Petite Arvine is an authentic Swiss varietal and a Swiss specialty. From a 120 year-old family-owned vineyard. All grapes for this wine come from the winery’s own properties. Vintage: 2003

Bouquet: dominated by citrus, rhubarb and wisteria.

Palate: soft, developing on a solid structure with a somewhat salty finish.

Serve: with veal, poultry in sauce, seafood, and aged dry cheeses, as well as an aperitif.

RED BLENDS

Cave de La Côte – Oenoline Salvagnin La Côte

From selected vineyards of the La Côte region along Lac Léman (Lake Geneva), in Romandie, Western Switzerland. Salvagnin is the vaudois red wine «par excellence».

 It can be made with various varietals, including Gamay, Pinot Noir, Gamaret and Garanoir. In this case, it is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Gamay.

Great versatile wine, it accompanies very well a lot of different dishes. Vintage: 2004

Bouquet: red fruit evoking cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant; light smoky character.

Palate: rather fruity, smooth, round, very light sharpness, medium tannin, well balanced and full.

Serve: as aperitif, with hors d’oeuvres, pasta, cheese and cheese dishes, white or red meat, game, and seafood.

ROSÉ

Cave de La Côte – DuBaril Rosé de Gamay Romand

From selected vineyards in Romandie, Western Switzerland, in the cantons of Vaud and Geneva. This rosé of Gamay is obtained by a short maceration, and then a racking and a pressing as for the white grapes. A very versatile, easy wine, it accompanies many dishes well, and one should always have a bottle on hand. Vintage: 2004

Bouquet: delicate flavors evoking cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant.
Palate: smooth, unctuous, fruity. With very light acidity and a touch of tannin. Light, thirst-quenching and well balanced.
Serve: as aperitif, with hors d’oeuvres, cheese and cheese dishes, fish, and assorted meats. Ideal for picnics and barbecues.
